Exomotive is heading up to Pennsylvania for the 2013 Carlisle Import-Kit/Replicar Nationals this week! Come see our new redesigned Exocet chassis and the US’s first turbo Exocet this Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Another great Autosport International! With the MEV Exocet MX150R race car on display at the Ma5da Racing stand, some of the show’s booth professionals stopped by to have their photo taken with the car and Exocet designer Stuart Mills.
This year’s Autosport International show is more exciting than ever for the MEV brand as we go into 2012 with MEV vehicles being developed on several continents and with a variety of powerplants.
On display at RTR’s booth is truly one of the most incredible incarnations of the the MEV Rocket that has ever been produced. Mabbs’ Supercharged Rocket M600C features an awe inspiring 600bhp/ton power to weight ratio.
In addition, the fabulous MEV Sonic 7 and MEV tR1ke demo vehicles will be on display in the RTR booth, manned throughout the weekend by Paul Holmes and Leighton Norris. Be sure to come see us this weekend in Hall 19 on stand number 19030. Simply turn to the right as you enter through the Hall 19 entrance and you can’t miss us.
Over the weekend, RTR took Mabbs’ Rocket, their Sonic 7 and tR1ke to NEC Birmingham for the Top Gear Live. Simply put, Top Gear Live is the most complete, all-action auto entertainment event on earth. Throughout the weekend, the stand was packed with people asking questions, taking pictures and admiring the exocars on display. Overall a fantastic show! Check out some photos of the event below.
While we travelled back to Atlanta from SEMA over the weekend, another national-level show was being hosted across the Atlantic at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry: MotorSport UK.
MotorSport UK was established to break down the barriers for those considering entering the sport, or for those already involved but looking for their next challenge in national motorsport in the UK. With attendance all of the major players in the UK racing and kit car scene attending the show, popular UK channel Motors TV was in attendance to record a half hour show review. Of all the race and kit cars in UK, which do they choose to profile? MEV Owner Mabbs’ amazing Rocket build of course!
Motors TV presenters Gemma Scott and Neil Cole film a segment in the MEV Rocket
“There is no channel in the UK providing as much national level motorsports as we do, so supporting Motorsport UK was absolutely obvious from the beginning. We really like concept, and are delighted to have Gemma Scott and Neil Cole hosting our coverage. We are sure that our viewers will be excited to see highlights of the inaugural Motorsport UK event, further installing Motors TV UK as the channel for British motorsport and ensuring Motorsport UK fulfils its potential.” – Frederic Viger, Head of Programming & Acquisitions
“I am delighted that Motors TV is going to broadcast highlights from our first show, which further demonstrates the huge steps we have made in only our first year. I am also honored to have secured two of the best motorsport presenters in the business in Gemma Scott and Neil Cole to host our coverage.” – Motorsport UK’s organizer Martin Capenhurst
Exomotive is back home in Atlanta after returning from an amazing SEMA show last week. The SEMA Show is the premier automotive specialty products trade event in the world. A trade-only event not open to the general public, it draws the industry’s brightest minds and hottest products to one place, the Las Vegas Convention Center. This year drew more than 50,000 domestic and international attendees coming from all over the world for educational seminars, product demonstrations, special events, networking opportunities and more. We exhibited with Dove Racing Enterprises in booth #33236 which was located in the First Time & Featured Exhibitors hall. During each of the 31 hours the show floor was open, our booth was absolutely inundated with traffic. Two of the four days I didn’t even get a chance to step away for lunch!
Overall, the show surpassed all of my expectations and we had some incredible exposure for the MEV brand in the US. With deposits taken on Rockets and Exocets, we certainly had an excellent first show in the US market. On top of the thousand+ people we spoke to about the MEV model lineup, we made many new contacts and began multiple new business relationships within the industry during our stay. Some exciting things coming out of those relationships soon are lower price shipping options for US buyers, new LED lighting options, custom ECUs for the Exocet, new options for composite panels and discussions for electric drivetrain options for our kits.
Keep your eyes open on the web for new photos of the car and booth from the show – by my count we had well over 2000 people come by the booth just to snap some photos! We had a great corner booth location and I enjoyed watching the expressions on peoples faces as they walked around the corner and were greeted by the extreme looks of the Rocket. Their eyes widened and stopped them in their tracks – I think the Rocket had more of an impact that most of the booth girls!
I personally want to thank everyone who helped make this happen, including Stuart Mills at MEV, Paul, Leighton and Liam at RTR, Pete & Yvonne Dove, my wife for taking time off work to come help us exhibit, the SEMA Action Network for pushing legislation to ease the experience for kit car builders across America, and of course each and every one of you here on the MEV board – the photos, videos and experiences you share are a constant help for us spreading the brand on this side of the pond. We could not do what we are doing without you. Also to the the over 1000 people I personally spoke to on the show floor – your plans, ideas and enthusiasm for your personal builds are inspiring.
As we get back to business in Atlanta and the post-show high winds down, I am re-energized by the wonderful reception we have had and our slew of new orders for MEVs. Pete and I look forward to filling your orders and we are extremely excited with our prospects for 2012 and beyond. We will not soon forget this SEMA show and look forward to the next.
