The Exocet MX150R race cars had their endurance racing debut over the weekend on the Snetterton 300 Circuit at the 2011 Ma5da Racing 12 Hour Winter Endurance Race. Happy to report that the Exocet set the fastest lap times of the day!

The 12 hour endurance race was formed due to the unprecedented success of the Ma5da MX5 Championship during 2011 and the average entries of over 90 cars per event. The BRSCC in conjunction with MSV and Ma5da Racing have introduced a new concept in endurance racing, by producing the first ever single make multiple class 12hr endurance race: the Ma5da 12hr Winter Enduro Championship. The brand new Championship endurance race was run non-stop on the Snetterton 300 Circuit for a full 12hr race Saturday the 12th of November 2011 from 09:01 – 21:01.

During the race, one of our Exocets blew it’s engine after 130k miles on the odometer and 4 races this season. The second Exocet MX150R’s old exhaust failed late in the race and we lost significant time repairing it in the pits. To our amazement our drivers were catching the leaders at a rate of 9 seconds per lap and had the race gone on for another half hour they would have won. Top marks go to Jonathan Blake and Alec Liversley for managing to race flat out for 12 hours behind the wheel, 6 hours a piece, hour on hour off.
